This drops clean, consistent page numbers onto every page of a PDF — useful for reports, manuscripts, legal filings, or any document where readers need to reference a page.

How to page numbers

  1. 1

    Add your PDF

Drop in the document you want to number.

  2. 2

    Position the numbers

Choose where the numbers sit so they land neatly in a margin.

  3. 3

Numbers are added across the document and the file is ready to save.

Everything runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded — there’s no server to send it to, no sign-up, and nothing to delete afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the page numbers appear?
You choose the position so they sit neatly in a margin without overlapping your content.
Will the numbers overlap my text?
They're placed in the page margin, so on standard documents they sit clear of the body text.
Can I number a document that already has a cover page?
Numbers are added across the document. If you want the cover left out, trim it first with the Split tool, then number the rest.
Are my files sent anywhere?
No. Numbering is done entirely in your browser.
